Westlake is proud to partner with several organizations this summer with the goal of finding unique ways to support our community. One of our core values at Westlake is ‘we take care of each other.‘ We’re grateful for opportunities to support one another both in the office and within the larger Portland area community during the pandemic and this year’s record heat.
To kick off the school year, we are once again collecting school supplies for the Tigard-Tualatin School District. Due to the highly contagious nature of the coronavirus, sharing supplies in classrooms will be discouraged, so the district needs extra support this year and our employees are stepping up to the challenge.
One of Westlake’s principals recently shared his thoughts about the importance of giving back.
“There have been many organizations that have struggled to continue their work in helping others due to the pandemic. Westlake has been very fortunate during the pandemic, and we would like to share with those that are still battling,” said Chris Kaleikilo.
It’s not just the coronavirus that’s impacting people. This summer’s record-breaking heat and drought are also taking a toll. For that reason, we thought it would be an excellent time to hold a Water Bottle Drive. Westlake collected dozens of reusable water bottles and donated them to the Blanchet House in Portland. The non-profit then sanitizes, fills, and distributes them to those experiencing homelessness to help them stay cool and hydrated.
Westlake is also very happy to participate in a fundraiser to help a former colleague who recently underwent a successful kidney transplant in early August. Westlake will continue looking for ways to support local businesses this fall and winter.
We were impressed by the quality of work and the deliverable schedule. Please pass on my appreciation to the project team. If you need a reference for future projects, I would be glad to give your firm one.”
