HR / Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an organized, self-motivated individual with great communication and demonstrated expertise in employee relations, labor laws, benefits and payroll to join our team as a HR/Payroll Specialist, reporting to the COO our our firm. You will have an integral role in ensuring that employees are recruited, hired, and onboarded effectively and provide continuous communication throughout employment regarding payroll, 401(k) and cafeteria plan choices. You will be one of the first impressions to new employees, and a trusted liaison between employees, managers, and leadership.

This person will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the following:

Human Resources

Recruiting: Assist with posting and reviewing job ads, scheduling interviews, sending offer letters, initiating background checks, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication with newly hired employees.
• Onboarding: Assist employees with new hire paperwork, changes of employment status, and manage employee questions.
• Support and assist all employees in areas that involve employee leaves, benefits, worker’s comp., compensation, and discipline issues as requested; answer general questions and know where to direct employees to the right people.
• Administration of Benefit plans, 401k plan, cafeteria plan,
• Pride yourself on your excellent communication skills and be an example all the time.
• Assist COO with review of new operational initiatives.

Payroll

  • Prepare payroll every 2 weeks and coordinate with 3rd party payroll company for processing. Experience with ADP is a plus.
  • Process payroll for prevailing wage projects and complete reports for submission to contractors.
  • Monitor 401K and FSA plan deductions.
  • Prepare manual payroll checks as needed (bonuses, final checks) and yr. end payrolls (auto use, draw, bonus, medical, moving expenses, etc.)
  • Coordinate with payroll company for year-end reporting.
  • Annually prepare W2’s.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 -10 years of Payroll and Human Resource work experience desired.
  • General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices.
  • Strong level of organization, detail-oriented, and possess outstanding follow-through skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extremely positive attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient computer programs knowledge and experience required (MS: Excel, Word / HR / HRIS/Payroll systems: ADP and Deltek desired).
  • Highly professional in communication and attire.
  • Possess the ability to work independently, be extremely organized, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with highly sensitive data and remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
Civil Project Engineer/Manager

This position requires experience managing project teams to plan and prepare construction documents for general civil projects in accordance with local city and county standards and guidelines. Activities require coordinating civil design with land use planning and surveying components. Position requires technical design background in design of streets, sanitary sewer, water, and storm drain and current water quality requirements. In addition, this role requires a dynamic person for networking and developing and sustaining clientele for the firm and overseeing financial aspects of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coordinate, administer, and design small-to-medium size civil site projects;
  • Coordinate with multiple jurisdictions to meet design criteria;
  • Estimate and budget task-hours for design projects and write project proposals;
  • Review job cost reports for posting and billing;
  • Ensure integrity and completeness of all civil designs with strong QA/QC procedures;
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, ensure client satisfaction, ensure client objectives are met;
  • Schedule staff and workload to meet deliverable deadlines;
  • Train and mentor civil engineering staff new to the profession;
  • Participate in professional organizations and industry functions;
  • Coordinate and communicate with firm Principals to help guide and grow the firm.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE);
  • Oregon PE required--licensing in other states a plus;
  • 7-10 years engineering experience with a background in site and civil design including a combination of roadway, traffic, stormwater, irrigation design and utility relocations;
  • Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards and environmental conditions/constraints;
  • A proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets;
  • Demonstrated skill developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of civil site development projects;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications (including MS Project);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with clients, staff, agencies, and firm management;
  • Experience with project estimating task/hour allocations and cost accounting methods for project management.
Civil AutoCAD Designer

We are looking for a talented individual to join our civil engineering division. The ideal candidate will offer:

  • A minimum of 4 years surveying experience with topographic mapping, boundary resolution, subdivision platting, Records of Survey, and heavy construction projects;

  • Using AutoCAD Civil 3D, prepares a variety of survey documents including boundary surveys, Records of Survey, exhibits, subdivision plats, and topographic maps (including ground models/property features);
  • Reduces field data using Trimble Business Center and imports data/exports data for field work through AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  • Performs office calculations;
  • Prepares legal descriptions of real property;
  • Directs survey field crew work and performs field work (as needed);
  • Supports field crew as needed for monumentation and/or construction staking.
Survey Technician - 3D Scanning & Industrial Measurement

This team performs state-of-the-art industrial surveying and scanning for an array of diverse clients from high-tech, manufacturing and fabrication facilities to the marine industry.

Survey Instrument Person/Intermediate - 3D Scanning & Industrial Measurement

We’re looking for a Survey Instrument Person with some experience to join our specialty Industrial Measurement Division (IMD). We are willing to train the right individual who is committed to learning and who has a true interest in 3D scanning and precision measurement surveying.
