Celebrating Lake Oswego-Tigard Water System

Today marks 5 years since the completion of the $254 million Lake Oswego Tigard Water Partnership program.

The project began in 2008, when the City of Lake Oswego and the City of Tigard decided to partner together to build a new water system. The massive project included the construction of a river intake pump station on the Clackamas River, 10 miles of pipeline, a pump station in Tigard, a storage reservoir in Lake Oswego, and a drinking water treatment plant in West Linn.

The project took nearly 9 years to complete and features state-of-the-art water filtration systems, was designed to withstand a major seismic event, and includes many green features to increase sustainability.

From 2010-2018, Westlake performed surveying for the entire 10-mile route from the new raw water intake facility on the Clackamas River, through Gladstone and unincorporated Clackamas County, under the Willamette River to West Linn, and through to Tigard.

WCI provided surveying, as a subconsultant to Brown & Caldwell, for preliminary alignment and final design of the water transmission routes and storage water facilities.

Additional scope tasks included resolution of right-of-way along the entire route, topographic surveying for the water treatment plant in West Linn and assisting the design team with cost control through collaboration and consultation.
