As we reach the midpoint of the year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible Lunch and Learn sessions we’ve hosted so far. These monthly gatherings have become a fundamental part of our Westlake culture, bringing together collaboration and community over a shared lunch.

Each session has featured insights from both industry leaders and our own talented team members, covering a wide range of topics. We’ve welcomed experts from adjacent fields such as architecture, geoengineering, and housing development, creating a wide variety of knowledge that extends beyond our day-to-day work.

As one of our civil engineers, Chris Holland, put it: “It’s invaluable to learn from others in related fields who bring different expertise and perspectives.”

Our Lunch and Learn goal is simple: to provide meaningful learning opportunities to help our team grow, both professionally and personally. These sessions offer a convenient and relaxed way to pick up skills and spark new ideas.

Beyond the valuable takeaways, Lunch and Learns have helped strengthen communication, foster professional development, and build a more connected workplace culture. And let’s be honest, the free lunch is a pretty good bonus, too.
