Begin with the end in mind.
SINCE 1983.
Westlake recently had the opportunity to host thirty students from Portland Community College’s Civil & Construction Engineering Technology program at our Tigard, Oregon offices. Our team came away energized and excited by students’ insightful questions and enthusiasm about the career path they’d chosen.
First year students attended overview sessions about Land Use Planning, Civil Engineering, and Land Surveying. Second year students spent their time with our Industrial Measurement staff for a presentation on 3D reality capture.
After spending the morning with us, we asked for students to share their thoughts:
I had a great experience touring and learning about Westlake Consultants. Seeing how everyone works together to complete a project and how everything comes together was an educational experience that I will not forget and will carry with me.
I was impressed with the design and planning of the housing development that is currently in the works. Seeing how they use HydroCad and the careful attention to detail and planning of the detention pond in the neighborhood was fascinating and filled me with excitement knowing that I will be learning how to design something like this in the future.
Walking around the office provided an opportunity for me to consider what my daily environment as an engineering technician might look like.
We’re grateful to PCC’s CCET Greg Gerstner and Leanne Redlinger for the opportunity to share what we love with their students!
It was a very professional experience working with the team from Westlake Consultants. Our seventeen story mid-rise was no match for their talent and experience. Very detailed and knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking advantage of their services.”
