This year was Westlake’s second year getting involved within the community in a fun and memorable way – The Rose Festival Floral Parade! 16 Westlakers dedicated their afternoon to helping behind-the-scenes and decorating parade floats. Tasks and responsibilities varied among the group, but making “cow pies” (shredded coconut fibers and glue), gluing individual beans to the structure’s base, and flower preparation were a few favorites. One float even required scaling a two-story scaffold! Despite a fear of heights, a few volunteers were up for the challenge. It’s always exciting to get a sneak-peek of the floats, but to see the time and energy required to make the parade such a success is truly impressive. We’re happy to have been able to play a small part in the event and really enjoyed bonding as a team along the way. We’re already excited for next year!
I wanted to pass along a note of thanks for all the help Westlake has provided to us on our projects. The information your group produces is responsive, accurate and top notch work.”
