During the week of May 23, Westlake’s Bernard Smith, PE, PLS, attended the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition with Portland Development Commission (PDC) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Westlake’s booth was part of the PDC clean energy coalition along with several other companies in attendance.

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center spans an entire mile and is 1 million square feet! All of this space was filled with hundreds of booths and large exhibits displaying the latest technology and information about advancements in wind energy. AWEA’s WINDPOWER conference attracted thousands of national and international attendees.

The conference was a great success for Westlake, as we were able to continue to expand our knowledge on the latest wind energy technologies and make contacts with our PDC group. We look forward to the opportunity to attend another WINDPOWER conference in the future!
