Under contract to the consulting design engineer, Westlake provided extensive surveying for both the preliminary alignment and final design of the water transmission route (both raw water and finished water conveyance), as well as water storage facilities. This project required resolution of right-of-way along the entire 10 miles of water conveyance and raw water line corridors.
Westlake assisted with cost control through collaboration and consultation with the design team for work flow, schedule, and scope. 3D laser scanning was employed on some lengths of roadway for added safety and speed of data collection. Westlake also performed the post-construction Record of Survey and tree elevation surveying under separate agreements to the project contractors.
The Lake Oswego-Tigard Water Partnership was formed in 2008 to share the cost of new infrastructure to ensure adequate water capacity for the two cities. From a new water intake facility on the Clackamas River, a transmission pipe runs from Gladstone, beneath the Willamette River to a treatment plant in West Linn, and into Tigard.
I consider Westlake personnel to have a high level of integrity as well as being accurate, conscientious and principled in their work. In my opinion, Westlake is a very accomplished and competent surveying firm, and I have no hesitation in recommending them for public agency surveying services.”
