For bridge and freeway overpasses, Westlake has supported full progressive assembly of bridge girder systems, often involving complex super-elevated curves. Our services have included both layout and verification. The girders have been transported to sites throughout the United States. Within the Portland and Vancouver Metro areas, we have provided services for numerous bridges supporting over 1 million travelers each day. Our industrial measurement approach provides precision to the millimeter, allowing for proper assessment of items such as the lift mechanism of Portland’s Broadway Bridge which ensures proper opening and closing. Westlake has also recently worked with the team providing upgrades for the Morrison Bridge. Previous projects include the St. John’s Bridge, Sauvie Island Bridge replacement, Hawthorne Bridge dimensional control and as-built measurements, and alignment and as-built services for the I-5 Bridge over the Columbia River.
