Westlake’s surveying and 3D laser scanning team continues to support the Oregon Zoo’s extensive animal habitat and infrastructure improvements. We have been fortunate to have worked on these improvements since 2011. Westlake has provided surveying to support the design and construction for the Veterinary Medical Center, Penguin habitat upgrades, Condors of the Columbia, the Education Center, and for Elephant Lands, which just welcomed a new 19-year-old (extra-large) resident named Sampson! Sampson is expected to be a great addition to the herd, offering “big brother” companionship to a 10-year-old young male, Samudra, and perhaps hitting it off with the mother, Rose-Tu, in hopes of adding to their highly endangered population.
Working with the Oregon Zoo has been such a fun experience for us. We love the work we do because we know how much happiness the Zoo brings to the community. Currently, we are busy with surveying for the Polar Bear Habitat, the Primate Habitat, and the Rhino Habitat. To increase our efficiency, we have made extensive use of our in-house 3D laser scanning capabilities to minimize disruption as much as possible for all animal residents and visitors.
Westlake met our needs 100%. They are great partners.”
