Westlake is always pleased to work on projects of high regard like the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton, Oregon. The project was named a 2022 Daily Journal of Commerce Top Project, placing 1st in the Arts, Culture & Entertainment Category, and was awarded a Portland Business Journal Transformer Award. This was a project of substantial scale, and the bulk of Westlake’s work was performed as subconsultant to Skanska, for whom we provided construction surveying for the site of the center and the Creekside parking garage adjacent to the property. We also provided construction surveying services as subconsultant to Dirt & Interchange Inc, Geotech Foundation Company-West, Rosendin Electric Inc, and Carr Construction Inc.
This $51 million interdisciplinary performing arts center encompasses 46,300 square feet and includes many resources for the artistically inclined: a 550-seat theatre, an art gallery, community engagements, and an adjacent parking garage. The Mainstage Theatre is modeled after a visual metaphor of a “beaver dam,” utilizing layered wood paneling in the design which bolsters the acoustics of the space. The space was built with the goal of attracting international and domestic performers to the venue, and making access to the arts available for all members of the community.
The center’s inaugural ‘Reser Presents’ Season began in September 2022, and concluded in May 2023. After the success of the first season at The Reser, they have just announced their ambitious 2023-2024 season schedule. Opening night is in September 2023, with a focus on global music — a performance from Grammy-nominated Afro-Cuban group Tiempo Libre and an opening night party following this first show. Throughout the rest of the season, The Reser’s goal is to highlight diverse acts for multigenerational audiences, bringing in acts like Lucky Diaz & The Family Jam Band, Kalani Pe’a: Hawaiian Christman, Haley Reinhart, and many more. Westlake is pleased to have supported a project with such continuing cultural and communal value. For the full schedule check out the link below.
I wanted to compliment you on your cad files. These files were the cleanest I have worked with in a long time. I see a lot of files from Engineers (200+ jobs a year) and your files were very nice to work with. I appreciate an engineering firm that takes the time to pay attention to their product.”
