Last week Sig Fransen, Stormwater Consultant with Contech Engineered Solutions, visited Westlake and presented a technical overview of the StormTech filter systems used for treating stormwater. The filter systems can have a number of filter media including Perlite and the original biodegradable filter product, and can be tailored to meet the requirements of each individual site. Sig also discussed the Filtera, above ground, LID treatment system and detention products.

These filter products have been in use for 20 years and started in the Portland area. There are now more than 250,000 project installations around the US, mostly concentrated in the Northwest and the Chesapeake Bay area.

These presentations are one of the ways Westlake contributes to continuing efforts to learn about the latest technologies and practices in the industry.
