Westlake has been a part of the Mary’s Woods expansion efforts since 2011, providing construction survey support to R&H Construction for numerous projects. Our most recent work on the campus involved providing sitework, construction staking, and survey support for utility layout and easements for The Village at Mary’s Woods. This $216 million-dollar expansion included construction of four buildings containing 196 independent living apartments, a commons building, an assisted living facility with 48 units, and three amenities buildings with a variety of restaurants, fitness, beauty, and medical facilities. The centrally located Dunne Community Center includes a café, bar, and 300-seat auditorium. The amenities buildings and Dunne Center are also open to the general public.
Built as a phased project, Westlake first provided surveying services for Martin Way and Rosecliff Drive, followed by construction surveying for the residential and amenities buildings. Combined, the nine structures of The Village at Mary’s Woods total over 422,000 square feet. Central to creating the ‘village’ atmosphere of the development is the 65-foot belltower, evoking the feel of a town square. Architectural detail was designed to match the look of the historic Provincial House, built in 1910, which sits on the east side of the Mary’s Woods property. This expansion effort was recognized by the Daily Journal of Commerce in 2020, receiving a Top Project first place honor (senior living category) .
Westlake has also provided surveying services for three previous projects on the 40-acre riverfront Mary’s Woods campus including the Marie Rose Assisted Living and Memory Care addition, expansion of the independent living villas, and the north field parking lot expansion.
We appreciate Westlake’s quick turnaround on the priority survey. Excellent work! At the biweekly client meeting, it was mentioned that Westlake was doing a great job communicating schedule for ROE’s.”
