Since 2019, Westlake assisted with the construction of the new Kellogg Middle School for Portland Public Schools. The $60 million school, located on SE Powell Boulevard, opened its doors in the fall of 2021 and is the district’s first middle school to be built in 50 years and their first carbon neutral school ever.
The 108,000-square-foot school will hold over 800 students grades 6th through 8th. The 4-story building features learning suites, commons and cafeteria area, performance arts stage, indoor and outdoor athletic areas, STEAM lab, learning garden, and the ability for students to track both water and energy usage. The project won 1st Place in the Primary Education category in the Daily Journal of Commerce’s “2021 Top Projects” awards. The contest recognizes the best projects constructed in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
As a sub-consultant to Todd Construction, WCI provided surveying services including construction staking and public street improvements for the school.
It was a very professional experience working with the team from Westlake Consultants. Our seventeen story mid-rise was no match for their talent and experience. Very detailed and knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking advantage of their services.”
