The new 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Patriot Hall was constructed at the site of the 1920’s era building, named to honor World War I veterans from the community. This site, which is made up of old quarry fill, is tightly constrained by other nearby campus buildings, and is located on an extremely steep slope. Project challenges included ADA pedestrian and parking compliance, hardscape grading, drainage, and fire access.
Westlake was the Civil Engineer of Record for the SRG Partnership team, and provided pre-design development, schematic design, design development (Phase I), and construction documents, permitting/bidding assistance, construction administration, and close-out/record drawings (Phase II). Tho overall goals of this project were to increase structural and seismic integrity of the facility, improve energy efficiency, support new health-related worker training and Veterans programs, and provide wellness resources for students and the community. The $16 million facility features a new 540-seat gymnasium and a third-floor running track with a view of the Columbia River.

We appreciate Westlake’s quick turnaround on the priority survey. Excellent work! At the biweekly client meeting, it was mentioned that Westlake was doing a great job communicating schedule for ROE’s.”
