Commons on the Tualatin is a 264-unit garden style multifamily development on the banks of the Tualatin River. Generous open space, multipurpose areas, and lush gardens are a highlight of the grounds. Residents also enjoy a direct, private connection to the Tualatin River Greenway, providing easy access for biking and walking along the river. The site is adjacent to Brown’s Ferry Park and a public boat launch as well. The 264 homes are contained in 5 buildings, and the development features a central clubhouse.
To achieve the maximum density on the site with relatively low building heights, the site design added structured parking under long buildings. This design freed up room to include a large central courtyard and small children’s play areas.
WCI provided full civil engineering (pre-design through construction administration), land surveying, and land use planning to support redevelopment of this 11-acre former RV park. Design challenges were related to the proximity of the Tualatin River and the required public pedestrian riverfront access.
As a subcontractor to general contractor Keyway Corp., Westlake also provided construction surveying.
We appreciate Westlake’s quick turnaround on the priority survey. Excellent work! At the biweekly client meeting, it was mentioned that Westlake was doing a great job communicating schedule for ROE’s.”
